New Vistas Home Reading Program
Beginning in preschool, every child works one-on-one with a Reading Specialist three times a week. Lessons are placed to each child's own ability, not their age or grade — a truly individualized approach to reading.
Preschool Classes
Our preschool and kindergarten programs offer a structured, nurturing environment with small classes. Students
build phonics, reading, math, motor, and language skills, along with art, music, and cultural appreciation. Contact us
at newvistasaz@aol.com to schedule a tour. All-day preschool runs Monday–Friday, 9 a.m.–3 p.m., for children as
young as 3 years old.
Kindergarten
Our Kindergarten is heads and tails above the norm. First, our Kindergarten curriculum is a full day of educational and play activities. It is peppered with our winning philosophy which is to encourage the growth of individual students to enable them to fulfill their own potential. We believe that each child has talents and gifts and our commitment is to find that area and help the child experience success. As they demonstrate readiness they will learn to read - and learn to read well. Concepts of beginning mathematics will also be introduced - and all in an atmosphere of fun, acceptance, and celebration of their individual gifts. Our 4:1 student to teacher ratio enables us to totally individualize their curriculum.
In Preschool, PreK and Kindergarten, our students have a 'Country Study' program where students have an in-depth study of various countries.
Primary School — Grades 1st and 2nd
Students are grouped by ability in math, spelling, vocabulary, and phonics, working in small, teacher-led groups of
four to five while classmates complete independent work with the help of a full-time aide. This allows each child
progress at their own pace, builds confidence, and keeps them engaged. Core subjects include language arts, math,
science, and social studies, plus computers, Spanish, art, music, and P.E. — with a 4:1 student-to-staff ratio.
Middle School - Grades 3 through 6
Middle School — Grades 3 through 6
Students take achievement tests each fall and spring to track academic growth, consistently scoring two or more
years above national norms. Results let teachers place students in the right math level and small groups. Core
subjects include language arts, math, and science, plus weekly science lab, social studies, computers, Spanish,
music, and P.E., all with a 4:1 student-to-staff ratio.
